HISTORYHoly Child Boys' National School opened on Wednesday, the 1st of July 1942 to cater for pupils in the Parish of Larkhill / Whitehall. Also opened in the same year was the Holy Child Infant School and the Holy Child Girls' School.
The Boys' School catered for boys from 1st Class to 6th Class and the first pupil registered in the school was Joseph Doyle of 249 Larkhill Road. A total of 447 pupils in all were on Roll in that first year. Three years later, in 1945, there were over 600 boys registered. The total number peaked in 1975 when there were over 950 pupils on Roll. |
